Expert Automotive Photography for Supercars, Classics & Collectors
Automotive photography isn’t just my profession; it’s my passion.
With years of experience shooting everything on wheels, I’ve honed my craft capturing both the raw energy and intricate details that make each vehicle unique. You’ll often find me hanging from the back of a van, photographing supercars at speed, or meticulously framing the elegance of a beautifully crafted classic.
As a British Champion competitor in motorsports—rallying a Mk2 Mini, hillclimbing a Mk1 MR2, and racing scooters across the UK and Europe, many bike and car track days incuding with my RobinHood kit car-I understand what makes each vehicle come alive. I bring that insight to my photography, showcasing the thrill and character of each car. You can find more information about me here.
Whether you need a single product shot or a full website shoot, I’m here to deliver the content you need.
My clients range from iconic brands like MG to private collectors, classic car magazines, and luxury car distributors.

I’m lucky enough to have build some great relationships with brands and organisations over the years. Pretty large brands such as Muntons, MG, Lacoste etc.
One of my most rewarding relationships recently has been with Tom and Helen at Tom Hardmans.
Working in such a friendly, passionate and knowledgeable atmosphere has been a joy. Although at Tom Hardmans I am shooting their ever changing stock which requires me to shoot quite a few cars in a day, they really do want me to reflect these cars in an artistic manor. They are works of art afterall. The cars they get in are always super interesting, every day is a school day at Tom Hardmans. Check out their website and some of their excellent photography HERE!
What types of automotive photography do you offer?
Ispecialise in high-end automotive photography including classic cars, vintage vehicles, supercars, motorcycles, scooters, and rare collector cars. My work covers studio photography, location shoots, car-to-car motion photography, light painting, commercial dealership imagery and private ownership.
What is car-to-car photography?
Car-to-car photography involves photographing a moving vehicle from another moving vehicle. I am securely harnessed into the back of my purpose made van. The shoot relies on communication, planning, and precision driving from everyone involved. It’s like a well choreographed ballet with me dangling out of the back of my van!
I do this in-camera, creating authentic motion blur without Photoshop. I can enhance the images in Photoshop but I find it way better to get it right the first time.
What is light painting automotive photography?
Light painting is a specialist photographic technique where controlled light is introduced into the scene to sculpt the shape and lines of a vehicle or add lighting effects. It’s ideal for hero images, exhibitions, and high-end marketing. TSP Studios are well known for light painting and has been developing the technique for many years. I shoot light painting commercially for advertising so it’s nice to combine this with car photography.
Do you work with car dealers and collectors?
Absolutely. I Regularly work with classic car dealers, collectors, auction houses, and manufacturers. My imagery is designed to elevate stock photography, increase engagement, and help tell the story behind each vehicle. If your car is worth a lot of money then my fee is a tiny fraction of this but will show off the vehicle at it’s absolute best in an artful and creative way.
Where are you based and do you travel?
TSP Studios is based in Greater Manchester, in Saddleworth but I work across the UK and internationally. I regularly travel for automotive shoots, whether that’s a private collection, a rural road, a race track or a specialist studio environment.
How long does an automotive shoot take?
This depends on the brief.
• Stock photography may take a few hours, for high end cars I can shoot 3 in a day. More standard stock can be documented much quicker.
• Hero images or light painting may take longer
• Car-to-car shoots are usually planned as half-day sessions
I’m experienced in working to tight timeframes without compromising quality. As a Pro you need to know when you have the shot then move on to the next.
Can you shoot for magazines and editorial features?
Yes. Our automotive photography has been published in leading magazines, including The Automobile. We work to editorial standards and can shoot specifically for print, online features, and press releases.
What equipment do you use?
I use professional mirrorless camera systems, studio and battery-powered flash, specialist mounts, bespoke rigging setups and a high quality drone. More importantly, I choose equipment that suits the subject and the story, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. As an example for car to car photography I use powerful studio attached to my van with special brackets, this allows for sharper images and more control over the light, just as you would if the car was stationary.
Do you photograph motorcycles and scooters?
Yes — I photograph motorcycles, vintage bikes, scooters, and custom builds. Many of the same techniques used for cars — including motion photography and light painting — translate beautifully to two wheels. I have a custom Lambretta and I also race a classic Lambretta.
How much does automotive photography cost?
Pricing depends on factors such as:
• Number of vehicles
• Type of shoot (studio, location, motion)
• Usage (commercial, editorial, advertising)
Every quote is tailored. I’m always happy to discuss your project and advise on the most effective approach. You will be very surprised how reasonable my prices are, this is based on the fact that I absolutely love what I do and like to be amongst automotive art. For regular work I’m around the price of a good plumber!
How do I book an automotive photography shoot?
You can get in touch via the TSP Studios website contact page or email directly to discuss your project. We’ll talk through your goals, usage needs, and creative ideas before putting together a clear proposal.
Why choose TSP Studios for automotive photography?
With 30+ years of photographic experience, a reputation for technical excellence, and a genuine passion for automotive culture, 2 and 4 wheels, TSP Studios offers imagery that goes beyond documentation —I create photographs with emotion, movement, soul and art.
